Blank...

I’m so glad We are getting an extra week on this next unit cause I definitely think I’m going to need it. I’m attempting to brainstorm ideas of what ethical problem I am even going to write my paper on and I’m drawing a total blank. Thank the Lord we have a little time to think about it!

Whats Next??

I feel so relieved after turning in my paper last night and then completing the midterm this morning. It was not that hard considering it was just writing a letter and I’m pretty sure I covered all the points she wanted us to. I guess it’s time now to start thinking about our next paper but truthfully I have no idea where to even begin.

Done!

Finally finished my paper! Woohoo! It took about four drafts and a lot of rewriting but I think it turned out pretty good. Now I just need to start looking at this midterm that we are going to be writing in the morning because I have yet to even look at it.

Revising

My conference went a lot better than I was expecting. I figured out a few places in my paper that need work and I’m about to start working on revising for the third time. I’ve got a few things to take out and a few things to elaborate on but besides that it is just some little grammatical things. Woohoooo revising!

FINISHEDDDD

Well, after an hour in the chapter room zoned out to Pandora, I finally finished editing my rough draft and I definitely feel better about it. For some reason, though, I feel like I’m going to come out of my conference tomorrow needing to rewrite a lot of it… I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

Oh and happy Fat Tuesday!!! PS y’all can follow me on twitter if you want @CaRL_baby… don’t dare judge my name my friend made it for me as a joke and it just kind of stuck hahah

Judgement Or Grace

So, after knocking out my rough draft last night in about two hours I’m thinking I’ve got a lot of rewriting to do before my conference on Wednesday. Woohooo rough draft number two get at me!

But in all seriousness, the two drafts I read in class today were really good and definitely pointed out important  problems in society. The idea of writing about a belief I possess kind of intimidated me at first. I had a tough time choosing a topic because trying to find an experience to use as an example started getting really personal… and I’m not really one to weep to others about my rough experiences haha sorry! Anyways, I finally ended up landing on the idea of judging people too quickly before you even get to know them. I think it’s something we all do far too often.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are.”

I think that sums it up pretty well. Judging others ultimately hurts no one but us and takes away from the grace we could possess.

Mad Men and Procrastination

As of right now I’m sitting on the couch trying to find any excuse not to start writing this manifesto. I’ve reached the stage where I’m procrastinating procrastination. Its not that I don’t like writing its mostly because I still haven’t decided what belief to write about… yeah, the rough draft is due tomorrow so I’m going to go ahead and apologize to whoever has to peer review mine cause its probably going to be pretty rough. I blame my Netflix account. I knew I was going to regret getting it because I’m currently attempting the very serious task of rewatching the third seasons of Mad Men in a day. Don Draper is my hero… haha just kidding…

Manifesto Topic

Well, after class today I am completely rethinking my manifesto assignment. I’m not sure what my topic is going to be yet, but it is not going to be about religion. I am thinking I want to go with something that has more to do with college students and that everyone could relate to.
